Our mission

Staying human in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

Retoria exists to spread a critical, ethical and human-centred culture of Artificial Intelligence and languages. So that, in the digital age, no one is left behind.

Why we exist

There is a new divide. And it is not technological.

Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we think, work and decide. But the real watershed is not between those who can use a piece of software and those who can't. It is between those who can think and say well what they mean, and those who can't.

Those who master their own language ask better questions, read critically, recognise errors and manipulation. Those with a fragile grip on language are subject to the tool instead of steering it. It is the first great social divide of the AI age, and it can be closed through education.

One mission, two intertwined pillars

Artificial Intelligence and languages are one and the same.

Understanding and governing AI

Critical, ethical, legally compliant and person-centred training. How Artificial Intelligence actually works, its limits and risks (hallucinations, errors, bias), the European framework (the AI Act and the GDPR) and data protection in everyday use.

Language is the key

Language is how we speak to AI, and how we speak to each other. A living language lets us steer the machine; a poor language makes us subordinate to it. We defend language as an indispensable cognitive tool and a human heritage not to be left to decay.

Without a living language, any AI training remains a technique you merely endure.

What matters is the value we offer

We train one person. We protect many.

We teach an employee to use AI without breaching the GDPR.

We protect the patient whose data passes through their hands.

We teach a teacher to spot AI hallucinations.

We protect the student who shapes a view of the world from those words.

We teach a professional not to expose client data.

We protect their clients, real people.

We teach a parent to guide their children's use of AI.

We protect young people from cognitive dependency.

We teach a head teacher to choose compliant tools.

We protect the whole school community.

We teach a student to use AI without ceasing to think.

We protect their developing mind.

The immediate goal is the person we train. The ultimate, social goal is the community.

The Retoria method

Four pillars

Phase 01

Understand

We don't limit ourselves to explaining keys or superficial tool usage: we reveal the mathematical, statistical, and probabilistic inner workings that lie behind language models (LLMs). Teachers and professionals understand how AI processes information, overcoming fears and blind adoption.

Key elements:

  • Statistical mechanics of Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Understanding prompt logic beyond the magic formula.
  • Critical analysis of hallucinations and machine limitations.
Phase 02

Comply

We translate the complex legal technicalities of the new AI Act directive and GDPR into immediate business and educational protocols. We help organizations map data flows and establish a registry of algorithmic risks, ensuring flawless governance.

Key elements:

  • Practical steps for the AI Literacy obligation (Art. 4 AI Act).
  • Data mapping for full GDPR compliance.
  • Drafting and implementing the AI risk registry.
Phase 03

Apply

We guide the digital transition with practical workshops focused on advanced prompt creation, secure document analysis, and intelligent automation of repetitive workflows. We teach how to safely integrate the best commercial and open-source AIs.

Key elements:

  • Advanced prompting techniques and context engineering.
  • Automation of repetitive workflows to double productivity.
  • Selection and secure installation of local and open-source AIs.
Phase 04

Stay human

We cultivate the perennial human faculties that no machine can ever replicate: the authorship of the word, the delicate nature of empathetic support, and the depth of autonomous critical thinking. We teach how to use AI as a mirror to amplify our intelligence.

Key elements:

  • Safeguarding one's authorial voice and intellectual property.
  • Developing empathy and irreplaceable human relationships.
  • AI as a cognitive sparring partner, not a replacement.

Every programme opens and closes with the Retoria AI Readiness Report, to measure the real growth in skills and awareness.

Our commitments

What we defend, every day.

Four promises that run through every course, event and piece we produce.

01

People, their fundamental rights and their wellbeing at work.

02

Language and the mind, against cognitive impoverishment, especially in the young.

03

Digital citizenship for all, narrowing the gap between those who steer AI and those who endure it.

04

Innovation centred on the person, openly human-centred.
